The McCoin Institute understands the unique challenges military and veteran students face as they transition into the college environment. That is why we offer our Military and Veteran Student Success courses free to all members of the different services and veterans. We believe that education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or financial situation. Our courses are designed to provide the support and resources necessary for military and veteran students to thrive academically and professionally.
Professional Certificate Program
The McCoin Institute Professional certificates are designed for professionals who guide our youth, service members, and veterans toward higher education and successful careers. These certificates are a mark of distinction, recognizing the expertise and dedication of those who have completed the programs. Upon completion, students receive their certificate of completion. These certificate holders also are awarded the McCoin Institute Lapel Pin.
Community of Practice
As a member of the McCoin Institute's Community of Practice (CoP) your Lapel Pin stands as the pinnacle of recognition in the field of advising and counseling service members and veterans on their higher educational opportunities, career choices, and transitioning into civilian life. Those who meet all the requirements are awarded their certificate and the prestigious McCoin Institute Lapel Pin.

I established the McCoin Institute with a deeply personal mission and an unwavering commitment to honoring my father, Emory McCoin. Throughout his life, my father was a testament to the unending pursuit of knowledge. His boundless curiosity and dedication to lifelong learning left an indelible mark on me.
As I reflected on my father's legacy, I recognized a profound need to extend self-development opportunities to those who guide and support our youth, service members, and veterans in their journey toward higher education and fulfilling careers. The McCoin Institute was born out of this realization, with the primary aim of providing valuable resources and expertise to empower advisors and mentors.
This institute is a tribute to my father's spirit and a testament to our commitment to fostering the personal and professional growth of those who, in turn, play an instrumental role in shaping the future of our nation's youth, service members, and veterans.
